Works will begin on Monday 8/8/16 – 5/9/16 on Mill Lane to install a new sewer system to the new development on Mill Lane /Bridge Street.

The location of the excavation means that whilst the works are being carried out Mill Lane will be closed to through traffic from Manor Street to Bridge Street.

The closure will be in place at all times with the exception of weekends.

The diversion will be clearly signed on the approaches to divert traffic onto Courthouse Street.

All residents of Manor Street will still have access and have been informed of the situation via a letter send by the contractors.

When the closure is in place, the residents will use a temporary turning area (if required) at the bottom of Manor Street / Mill Lane so that they can exit via North Parade/Courthouse Street.

To allow this, the current Manor St/Mill lane junction will have the ‘exit only’ restriction temporarily suspended to allow both egress and access to facilitate the turning manoeuvre.

Again, residents have been made aware of this and there will be a specialised sign on site to clarify.

There will also be a banksman on site at all times to assist.

Apologies for the short notice but we are keen for the contractor to get the works completed with the summer break.
