WHEREAS Leeds City Council is the traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District; and

 

WHEREAS cover and frame repair works are to take place.

 

TAKE NOTICE that in the interests of public safety it is considered necessary to prohibit vehicular use of Well Hill Otley Leeds between its junctions with Westgate and Burras Lane.

 

DIVERSIONARY ROUTE: A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Westgate, Kirkgate, Burras Lane and vice versa.

 

[Access to pedestrians, property and for emergency vehicles and construction traffic will be maintained.]

 

PERIOD OF WORKS/RESTRICTIONS: The works are to take place between 09:30 and 15.30 hours on Tuesday 24 July 2018.

Pressing ahead to repair the A59 at Kex Gill

North Yorkshire County Council is moving ahead with measures to repair the A59 at Kex Gill following the closure of the road at the end of last month after movement in the carriageway.

The County Council’s contractors will be working over the next two weeks on the bank below the road to carry out the repairs necessary to reinforce the wall.

WHEREAS the installation of temporary vehicle barriers is to take place.

 

TAKE NOTICE that in the interests of public safety it is considered necessary to prohibit vehicular use of the A658 Pool Bank New Road, Leeds between its junctions with the A660 Leeds Road and Pool Road.

 

DIVERSIONARY ROUTE: A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via the A660 Leeds Road; Gay Lane; Bondgate; Crossgate; Boroughgate; Cross Green; Pool Road and vice versa.

 

[Access to pedestrians, property and for emergency vehicles and construction traffic will be maintained.]

 

PERIOD OF WORKS/RESTRICTIONS: The works are to take place between 22:30 hours on Thursday 28 June 2018 and 01:00 hours on Friday 29 June 2018.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 16A AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1994

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has today made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as inserted by Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994, prohibiting the use of certain roads by vehicles to facilitate the holding of the Otley Cycle Club Town Centre Road Race on Wednesday 4 July 2018.

The event will require the closure of roads and road junctions and the prohibition of waiting as well as the introduction of mandatory turning movements in Otley Town Centre. The Order will come into effect on Wednesday 4 July 2018 and will continue in force between 17:15 hours and 23:00 hours. The roads to be closed are set out in the Schedule 1 hereto. The mandatory turning movements are set out in Schedule 2 hereto. Where necessary, signed local diversions will be in operation. The waiting restrictions are set out in Schedule 3 hereto and will come into effect on Wednesday 4 July 2018 between 06.00 hours and 23.59hrs.

No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed on the length(s) of road specified in Schedule 1 (whilst the road closure is in place), to turn contrary to the directions specified in Schedule 2 hereto or to wait on any length of road specified in Schedule 3 hereto on Wednesday 4 July 2018 PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the relevant event.

The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the said event (including those used for stewarding, crowd management and traffic management purposes), or to anything undertaken on the direction of or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any other official so authorised in the control and operation of the event, or in accordance with any sign placed by West Yorkshire Police. Emergency access will be maintained for the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance purposes and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic.

Existing provisions relating to speed limits either by Order or by virtue of street lighting (Restricted Roads) are hereby suspended on the roads specified in Schedule 1 of the Order in so far as they relate to designated race vehicles only for as long as the road closure is in operation.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained to all premises situated on or adjacent to any road or part of road to be closed or to which restrictions apply including other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only from such a road.

A copy of the Order as made, a map showing the route of the race and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order are available for inspection at, Leeds City Council, Legal Services, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR (Ref:A76/RAH) and at Otley Library, 4 Boroughgate, Otley.
