Voice Your Choice is an initiative introduced by the Council focused on local decisions making. Voice Your Choice involves seeking ideas and suggestions on projects and events that the residents of Otley would like to see delivered in the community. Key to the Voice Your Choice process is that members of the community are able to participate in the decision making process through a public ballot. The project receiving the most votes (using a points based system) would then be delivered then the second choice and so on until the money is exhausted.

Projects delivered so far through Voice Your Choice:

  • Outdoor Gym (Wharfemeadows Park)
  • Memory Cafe for people with dementia
  • Otley Heritage Mosaic (Tittybottle Park)
  • Website for the Otley Christmas Tree Festival
  • The Day le Tour Came to Otley Film
  • Otley Gateway Dry Stone Wall

Voice Your Choice in Otley 2015

Otley Town Council is again inviting residents to spend a portion of its budget through the Voice Your Choice initiative. This year Voice Your Choice has a fund of £10,000.

The Council is now calling for any ideas and suggestions on projects/events that residents would like to see delivered in the town. The only restriction is that your project idea must be practical in terms of being able to be delivered within the budget constraints of £10,000.

The public ballot, where Otley residents vote for the winning projects will take place in early September.

If you have an idea or project proposal then we would like to hear from you. Anyone who would like to put forward any project ideas should complete the Voice Your Choice 4 Project Concept form or alternatively forward your ideas to Jason Knowles via e-mail: or pop into our offices: Otley Core Unit 11 Orchard Gate, Otley, LS21 3NX.

The deadline for project ideas is 3pm on Monday 22nd June 2015.
