The Otley Community Bus has now been taken over by Otley Action for Older People (OAOP). However, the bus (now called the Otley Action for Older People Community Bus) is still available for hire and is being run under the guidelines of the old Community Bus.
To hire the vehicle, you need to be an affiliated member of OAOP (pre-OAOP members are still eligible). In order to become affiliated, your organisation must be a non-profit making association or club, eg charity, school, church, scout group etc.
To hire the bus, or to find out about affiliation requirements and to apply for an application form to become affiliated, please contact OAOP on 01943 463965 or 01943 467106. The bus can be hired with or without a driver for the same charge. All OAOP’s drivers are MIDAS (Minibus Drivers’ Awareness Scheme) professionally trained and anyone wishing to drive the bus on a members’ behalf must undergo an assessment drive by OAOP’s trainer/assessor. Charges for the bus are aimed at affordability for the groups and associations who are likely to use the vehicle.
